Sustainability matters.

Paper is an inherently sustainable product because wood fiber is among the most renewable of all natural resources. We take sustainability further, integrating it into everything we do.

Paper is sustainable at multiple levels. It’s made from trees, one of the earth’s few truly renewable resources. It’s highly recyclable and recycled. Its manufacture and use support hundreds of thousands of jobs in the United States alone, and paper contributes to quality of life for millions worldwide.

We are proud to be a leading paper producer. To us, sustainability means creating, respecting and sustaining a balance among economic, social and environmental considerations to promote the responsible, ethical and long-term success of our company. It requires each of us to think about the choices we make and the actions we take every day, and how they affect the future of our business, our people, the communities where we operate, and our planet.

Boiled down to its essence, sustainability is about caring about people. Protecting their safety and wellbeing remains a top priority as we deliver high-performing products.

Being financially sustainable; purchasing from regional suppliers as a first preference

Putting safety first and operating ethically, always; giving back to our communities with a generous spirit

Minimizing consumption, waste and emissions; sourcing fiber responsibly

Our Affiliations: Getting the Word Out

Paper has a very positive, compelling story to tell. We are teaming up with others in the industry to help get the word out.

We are proud to be one of the paper and paper-based packaging manufacturers unified to support the Paper & Packaging—How Life Unfolds® initiative. The aim is to help consumers see the importance of paper in our everyday lives, deepen their understanding of the industry’s resource stewardship, and promote and increase consumer demand for paper and paper-based packaging.

We are a member of Two Sides North America, Inc., an independent, non-profit organization created to provide a forum for members of the graphic communications supply chain to promote the responsible production and use of print and paper, improve sustainability standards and practices, share experiences, and maximize customer confidence in our industry’s products. One important goal is to dispel common environmental misconceptions by providing users with verifiable information on why print on paper is a sustainable, practical and attractive communications medium.
